STEM Center



The Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Center is comprised of two programs: Florida Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP) and STEM Star. The STEM Center provides an environment for students majoring in STEM to utilize resources and network with other STEM students and faculty.
Along with those benefits we offer the following:


  • Academic Excellence Workshops
  • Transfer Assistance
  • Scholarships
  • Internships
  • Study groups
  • Mentoring
  • Academic Advisement

The STEM Center is located in the Academic Computing Building (AC), room 133.


 FGLSAMP/ Bridges to the Baccalaureate Program


FGLSAMP (Florida Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) is funded by the National Science Foundation. The FGLSAMP program is located in 14 institutions in Florida and Georgia. We have active membership (those eligible for scholarships) and membership for students who are not eligible for scholarships.


  • Minority (African-American, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander) majoring in STEM
  • Full time student (for scholarship)
  • Attend Academic Excellence Workshops
  • Enrolled in STEM related courses
  • Participate in events (ex: fundraising and community service)
  • Spend required time in the STEM Center
  • Progress Reports​

 STEM Star


STEM Star is a scholarship program in which applications are accepted once a year. The application is available online in February and closes in June.


  • Must be a STEM Major
  • 3.0 GPA
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Full time student (12 credit hours)
