Faculty Resources

TCC Online's faculty support team assists faculty in developing distance learning courses and using instructional technology. The support team's goal is to assist faculty in enhancing course quality, facilitating student collaboration, and increasing student engagement and success. Faculty can develop their skills, knowledge and abilities through individualized coaching sessions, group coaching sessions, face-to-face workshops or online workshops.

TCC Online provides a wealth of resources to help support instruction, whether in the face-to-face or online classroom. The team offers training and assistance in the design and implementation of online and hybrid courses. In addition, the team provides training on instructional software, assistance with multimedia development, access to Canvas tutorials, and more. The TCC Online team is faculty's one-stop shop for all online and instructional technology needs.

Creating Accessible Online Courses

An accessible online course promotes learning by enabling all students to easily access and use course materials. Faculty are required by law* to ensure that materials used in their online courses are accessible. This section is designed to assist faculty with making materials for your online courses accessible.

Online Accessibility Law

Accessibility is the law and at TCC we follow the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); the 1998 amendment to the 1973 Rehabilitation Act; and, the reauthorized 1998 Rehabilitation Act amendments.  Section 508 was enacted to “eliminate barriers in information technology, open new opportunities for people with disabilities, and encourage development of technologies that will help achieve these goals."
