​Mail Center and Courier Services

  • Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
  • If special assistance is needed beyond normal business hours, please call (850) 201-8176.
  • Please notify the Mail Processing Center, (850) 201-8176, whenever faculty and/or staff change office locations from one department to another.

Delivery and Pickup Schedules

Mail Schedule

  • Mail is delivered and picked up from departments each weekday morning between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and each weekday afternoon between 2:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. Mail Processing Center staff visits each department at these times each day to check for outgoing mail and packages even when no incoming mail or packages are to be delivered to a department.
  • Incoming US Postal Service (USPS) mail is obtained by 8 a.m. each weekday morning. Outgoing USPS mail is picked up by the USPS around 4:45 p.m. each weekday afternoon.

UPS and Fed-Ex

  • UPS and Fed-Ex parcels and envelopes are received from these carriers throughout each weekday.  Packages received before 9:30 a.m. are delivered along with the morning mail delivery and packages received prior to 2:30 p.m. are delivered along with the afternoon mail delivery.
  • TCC employees in urgent need of receiving a UPS or Fed-Ex parcel or envelope are urged to contact the Mail Center at (850) 201-8176 so that staff is aware and can deliver the package when it arrives.

Print Jobs

  • Print Jobs are delivered to departments each morning between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and each afternoon between 2:30 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

Mailing Practices

Bulk Mail Outs

  • dp_-_processing_mail_medium.jpgBulk mail outs are processed through the USPS.  Departments are to provide a separate count of the number of envelopes being mailed within the 323 area (i.e. zip code beginning with 323), and a separate count of the number of envelopes being mailed outside of the 323 area (i.e. zip codes beginning with numbers other than 323).  Departments can accomplish this by writing the count on the authorization form or on a separate sheet of paper, and including the form or paper in the same box with the envelopes.

High Volume/Mass Mail Outs

  • High volume/mass mail-outs of envelopes are frequently required by various departments within the College.  Departments interested in a high volume mass mail-out should contact the Mail Center at (850) 201-8176 at least two days prior to the mail-out to assure mailing is timely.  This is necessary to provide the Mail Center staff adequate notice so that staff may plan accordingly and assure resources are available to assist with the mail-out.  Mass mail-outs must be received by the Mail Processing Center on the morning they are to be mailed to ensure they are delivered to USPS on the afternoon of the same day.
  • The preparation of high volume mass mail-outs is important.  When, inserting envelopes back into the mail trays or containers please make sure that all unsealed envelope flaps overlap one another.  Failure to do so will cause a delay in your high volume mass mail-out process.  Additional instructions pertaining to high volume mass mail-outs can be provided to departments by contacting the Mail Processing Center at (850) 201-8176. 
  • Parcels and envelopes must be properly packaged and labeled for shipping USPS, UPS and Fed-Ex. The correct forwarding mailing address and zip code must be located in the middle of the mail, envelope or package and the TCC return mailing address (or appropriate return mailing address) must be located on the upper left side of the mail, envelope or package.
  • The "Request for Mailing" form, must be completed for all parcels or envelopes to assure the correct address and account number is identified. The information to complete on the request for mailing form includes: department name, date, smart tag, requested by, approved by and the total number of pieces. The type of services must also be checked (refer to information under the three columns).
  • The request for mailing form should accompany the parcel or envelope when it is provided to the Mail Center staff for processing.  All mail and parcels should be given to mailroom staff for processing. Departments should not call any shippers (USPS, UPS or FedEx) to have them come out and pick up parcels.

Courier Service

  • eh_-_courier_medium.jpgThe College operates a courier service on Tuesday and Thursday.  This service provides pickup and delivery of mail and packages to routine locations away from the main campus that include the Florida Public Safety Institute, TCC Capitol Center and state agencies.
